In an effort to create low-maintenance yards, homeowners are replacing their lawns with a wide range of landscaping solutions, from drought-resistant plants to concrete. But concrete as well as some desert plants can create a cold and uninviting atmosphere, especially in outdoor areas where families want to gather and enjoy the fresh air. Instead of paving your yard with concrete, consider installing an artificial turf lawn.

Artificial Turf Supply is proud to offer synthetic lawn products designed to replace natural grass. Use synthetic grass to beautify the areas where thirty grass might grow. Synthetic grass is drought and heat-tolerant and can provide year-round curb appeal and interest. For variety and color, you can also incorporate into the landscape a variety of plants with low water requirements.

Do you want a beautiful garden without the lawn? We understand. We know that natural turf lawns require a great deal of water, time, and maintenance. But, is it possible to create a verdant, inviting yard without natural grass? The answer is yes. Consider losing the front or back lawns in favor of lush, maintenance-free gardens. To learn more about artificial grass cost and delivery, please contact us today.

A green, vibrant lawn is every homeowner’s dream. But what if you live in the desert or where over watering is discouraged by drought restrictions? There’s good news. Your landscaping dreams don’t have to be thwarted in dry climates or during drought. A water-wise landscape can still be verdant and beautiful with the use of artificial grass turf, an alternative to natural grass that does not require water.

Lush and beautiful year-round, an artificial turf landscape requires a little planning and funding up front, but it saves you time and money in the long run. Here’s how:

Anyone can create a low-water garden or landscape by installing synthetic turf in their homes. Install synthetic grass as a water-wise replacement for lawns, landscaping, pool surroundings, playgrounds, and gardens. You can also use it to create low-water walkways. Synthetic turf’s advanced formula makes it perfect for sunny and shady areas. They tolerate most temperatures as long as it is properly installed.

Once you’ve replaced your natural grass with fake grass, you can complete your water-wise landscape by planting native plants that are accustomed to your natural climate and can handle extreme dry weather.  To learn more about our water-wise products, please visit www.artificialturfsupply.com.

I had spoken to a contractor several years ago who was shopping artificial grass prices for a Pet Kennel Facility. I explained the durable construction of our pet artificial grass line and told him that the product can also be used for residential synthetic lawns.

I gave the contractor a price range of $2.16 – $3.13 per sq ft with an 8 year warranty. He thanked me for my time and told me that he had a much better price quote of around $2.00 per sq ft. I quickly reminded him that with artificial grass, you get what you pay for.

I recently got a call from the same contractor because his decision to buy the $2.00 cheap turf for the Pet Kennel had backfired. The Pet Kennel has a horrible smell of dog urine that is retained in the cheap woven backing. The cheap turf is coming out in patches and is being ruined by the dogs. His customer has now asked him to replace the whole project on his dime.

The contractor called the turf company he bought the cheap turf from and they told him they made a mistake and the turf they sold him does not come with any warranty. In the end, this project will cost the poor contractor over $5.00 per sq ft for choosing a cheaper turf product that came with costly consequences.

We are now replacing the cheap turf with our ever popular Pet Pro Plus-69SL artificial lawns which is used in pet kennels nationwide and has a heavy duty backing not a cheap woven backing.

This allows us to stand behind our warranty unlike other turf companies. To see the Pet Pro Plus series check out this link: http://www.artificialturfsupply.com/petpro_series.html

And if you need a quote for any of our turf product don’t hesitate to call us toll free at: (877) 525-TURF (8873)

In the end, the contractor thanked me for helping him get the right product for the job this time and told me I was correct, that when it comes to artificial grass, you sure do get what you pay for.

Many commercial cleaning products and household items contain toxic chemicals. So it is understandable when parents question our company about the safety of fake lawn grass. Is synthetic grass safe for children? The answer is yes.

Throughout the years, there have been many independent studies on the safety of artificial turf. Time after time, these studies prove that synthetic turf is in fact safe for people and pets. The most recent study was in October 2010; the California Office of Environmental Assessment released a report that there were “no public health concerns” concerning the air quality above crumb rubber unfilled synthetic turf and bacteria in the turf.

Artificial Turf Supply offers residential synthetic turf that is 100 percent safe for children, adults, and pets. Our synthetic turf does not contain hazardous chemicals and does not add pollution to the environment. In fact, a fake lawn is safer for children than natural grass. This is because synthetic turf eliminates the need for harmful fertilizers and pesticides.

Artificial Turf Supply provides residential-grade artificial grass at wholesale prices. You can rest assured that our products are safe for children and the environment.

Spring is Here!

So the snow is starting to clear and I am looking at a mud bath my 2 German Sheppard’s have created. I couldn’t even tell what was mud and what was their waste. I remembered last spring watching the DIY network and a couple installed their own artificial turf lawn system. Since my yard was only 20×30 feet, I figured I would give a go round at putting down the synthetic turf. I found out from ArtificialTurfSupply.com which turf and which base was best to use under the synthetic grass. I basically built a paver base with road base and then rock screenings. This made a huge difference already as all the mud was covered by 4 inches of tamped material. The icing on the cake was when I laid down the PET PRO PLUS 90S artificial grass; simply an amazing product. The dogs love the turf and to my surprise can’t damage the turf with their digging habits. Since I have had the synthetic turf, they tried to dig for a week or two and now they just enjoy it. The two of them will play out there like bandits and sometimes sunbathe on the artificial grass. I can’t be happier now that the mud and other objects from the yard don’t end up on my couch or in the house.

Wholesale artificial turf has the power to improve communities and schools. It provides children and adults access to year-round playing fields, which keeps people active, healthy, and in shape. It also provides people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the playground. Not surprisingly, there are countless stories of the tremendous impact artificial turf has had on the community.

Has your school or business benefited from installing artificial grass turf? Do you have a compelling story about the impact of the synthetic turf field of installation in your college or sports facility? If you’re one of the more than 7,000 institutions across North America with synthetic turf athletic fields, you could win $1,000 thanks to Synthetic Turf Council’s annual Search for the Real Field of Dreams contest. The Synthetic Turf Council announced earlier this month that it is now accepting applicants for its fourth annual contest designed to help communities and schools.

The national contest is open to schools, parks, businesses, and public areas in the U.S. and Canada. If you’re a student, coach, faculty member, recreation manager, or business owner, you can nominate your artificial grass installation for a chance to win the contest. Applicants must have “compelling stories about the impact of their synthetic turf field of installation.” The grand prize is a whopping $1,000, and all winners receive publicity and a cash award. Applicants must be nominated by September 1, 2012.

Since improved synthetic grass was introduced in the late 1990s that replicates the look and durability of natural grass, it has become a popular landscaping solution for homeowners and businesses across the nation. It’s also used in athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds. While there are many reasons contributing to the popularity of artificial grass — ranging from appearance to improved safety — one of the main reasons people love it so much is that it saves them money.

Who knew that installing fake grass could save homeowners and businesses money; but it does. The fact is synthetic grass can provide continual use up to 12 times the annual use of real grass even under extreme environmental conditions. Moreover, it can provide long-term use while eliminating the need for water, mowing, weeding, and fertilizers – that’s more money in your pocket.

On the other hand, natural grass requires regular maintenance as well as recovery maintenance after heavy wear and tear. One major rainfall or sports event can shut down natural grass areas for months. Even in the best conditions — which mean lots of water and maintenance – natural grass can usually only perform 10 percent of the activity time compared to an artificial turf lawn.

In addition to lowering annual operating and maintenance costs (and, as if we needed another reason to love fake grass) artificial grass comes with an eight year warranty. Natural grass suppliers can’t even come close to offering such a deal! When natural grass dies, it’s your responsibility to revive it again or start all over.

You are here : Home » AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ARTIFICIAL GRASS SYSTEM FOR SOCCER, FOOTBALL & RUGBY Friday, 9 March, 2012 Artificial grass, Artificial grass for American football, Artificial grass for baseball, Artificial grass for rugby, Artificial grass for soccer, Artificial sports grass

Domo is introducing an environmentally friendly artificial grass infill onto the market. Naturafill is a natural product based on specially selected cork. Pure nature, with no additives. The cultivation and processing of the cork is also carried out in perfect harmony with nature from start to finish.

Artificial grass uses infill materials to guarantee the perfect shock-absorbing characteristics of the grass mat.  At present these are mostly vulcanised materials such as rubber. With Naturafill, Domo is taking the next step in its innovative eco-policy.

A positive impact on our climate
Naturafill is produced on cork plantations, where it is harvested from cork oaks at nine-year intervals. An oak’s cork is harvested for the first time once the tree is approximately 25 years old. The professional extraction of the cork bark from the trunk has no negative impact on the continued survival of the tree. It is estimated that cork oak groves worldwide absorb 10 million metric tonnes of CO2 per year. This has a positive impact on the safeguarding of our climate. Cork is also a renewable resource, and what’s more, cork oaks are managed sustainably: when an old tree (200 years old) is cut down, a young tree is planted in its place. Because production takes place primarily in Europe, and because the materials weigh so little, the environmental impact of transporting them is also relatively low.

Recyclable with no loss of quality or residual waste
Naturafill can be completely reused without sacrificing any quality and without producing any residual waste. When the infill is processed into granules – a process which expends very little energy – no harmful substances are emitted and no waste is produced.

Positive reception from sports clubs and local authorities
The new artificial grass infill has had a positive reception from the entire football market. The technical playing properties required to obtain a FIFA 1STAR and 2STAR certificate are perfectly guaranteed. Projects have already been started this season in various countries, a couple of them in Belgium, including in Stoumont, and there have also been various positive reactions in the Netherlands, and a pitch is even shortly to be installed on Kos in Greece.

Designing a lush landscape around your pool is a great way to beautify your yard and soften hard surfaces. There are many elements to consider when landscaping your pool, including materials, cost and design. However, landscaping your pool area doesn’t have to be daunting, especially when you use synthetic turf.

Whether you’re designing pool landscaping from scratch, or redoing an old landscape, our residential-grade synthetic turf products can be used to landscape your pool without costing you a lot of time or money on installation. In addition, our synthetic lawns are maintenance-free, which means you don’t have to spend extra time and money on mowing, watering, or weeding your lawn.

Another important element to consider when landscaping a pool is creating shade. Shady areas provide friends and family with relief from the hot sun, especially important on summer days. However, as we all know, it is challenging to landscape shady areas. This is why artificial turf manufacturers recommend installing synthetic turf in shady areas, such as underneath trees and structures such as gazebos.

Do you own synthetic turf? Then you already know that one of the best things about installing synthetic turf is that it is virtually maintenance free. However, there are a few things you can do to extend the life of your artificial lawn, especially if you have pets.

If your synthetic turf does not have infill, use a push broom or a rake to remove any debris and dust from the turf. Simply brush against the grain with a push broom to help eliminate any debris and dust. This method also stabilizes the fibers. We recommend using a push broom or a rake every three months to keep synthetic lawns clean and lush.

If you have pets or experience spills such as juice or soda, simply use water to clean up the mess. You can also use a mild detergent if you’re cleaning up after your dog or other pets. Watering your synthetic turf is also a great way to cool off the grass in temperature above 100 degrees. Synthetic turf grass is a very popular surface for playing fields in high schools and colleges throughout the country. According to the Synthetic Turf Council, about half of all NFL teams play games on synthetic turf playing fields. So why do so many high schools and colleges switch to artificial turf lawn surfaces? There are many reasons.

The first reason is flexibility. Synthetic turf can be used as a playing surface for many sports, including football, soccer, hockey, baseball, rugby and lacrosse. This is a great plus for high schools and other facilities that use their fields for more than one sport. Another benefit of installing athletic-grade synthetic turf is water conservation. Synthetic turf does not need to be watered, saving schools and other facilities money on water bills.

However one of the main reasons for installing artificial lawn fields is that it increases playing time and safety. A synthetic turf field can be used up to three times more than a natural grass field, offering athletes increased play time and practice time. Artificial lawn fields are also safer than natural grass fields because they provide a consistent, uniform playing field.

Save Water with Fake Grass

An artificial turf lawn is an eco-friendly alternative to natural grass. Among the many reasons, it eliminates the need to use lawn mowers, the source of high levels of carbon monoxide emissions. Artificial turf grass also eliminates the use of fertilizers and pesticides. In addition to these benefits, installing synthetic grass also helps conserve water.

Water conservation is a major issue, and not just in desert areas. It is a worldwide problem that affects us all, which means each of us has a responsibility to conserve water whenever possible. This is why many homeowners and businesses are investing in synthetic grass products for landscaping and other applications. Unlike natural grass lawns, synthetic turf grass does not require water.

According to the Southern Nevada Water Authority, every square foot of natural grass replaced with synthetic turf saves 55 gallons of water a year. If you’re searching for a cost-effective way to conserve water and reduce your water bill, consider installing fake grass.

BuffaloGrovePatch.com reports that Buffalo Grove High School is expected to receive a fake lawn football field with the help of the city’s park district. The Buffalo Grove Park District has granted the high school up to $500,000 toward the project in return for use of the field when it is not in use by the students. The estimated cost of the entire project is $ 1 million. The school will pay for the remainder of the cost, according to the article.

In a statement about the new field, Dan Schimmel, executive director of the Buffalo Grove Park District, said they will be using the high school facilities for sports, performing arts, and special events, while the high school will have privileges to use its parks for soccer and cross country. Schimmel added that the new fake grass project provides them access to fields that can be used year-round regardless of the weather.

Just as homeowners and businesses throughout North America benefit from synthetic lawn turf, dogs are also enjoying this alternative landscaping solution to natural grass. The Synthetic Turf Council reports that a growing number of dog parks, day camps, training facilities, and pet hotels are installing synthetic turf surfaces for their pets. According to the announcement, synthetic turf provides dogs with a better experience while also benefiting the environment.

Natural grass simply doesn’t stand a chance against the wear and tear caused by dogs. What’s more, most day camps and parks for dogs are expensive to maintain and usually shut down during the winter months for maintenance or muddy terrain. However, dog parks and training facilities that buy synthetic turf can provide dogs with lush, mud-free terrain that is open year-round regardless of the weather.  In addition, play areas with synthetic grass are much safer and more sanitary than similar facilities with natural grass.

However, Fido is not the only one who benefits from synthetic turf. This innovative product is also great for the environment. Artificial grass saves water and eliminates the need to use harsh chemicals and fertilizers. It also helps combat global warming by eliminating the need to use lawn mowers and leaf blowers.  Brazilian 1994 World Cup team play on Evergreens Artificial Pitch

INDUSTRY NEWS!

Artificial Grass Pitches are a step closer to making a come back to English Football. The F.A are currently considering informed opinion on their return. Read more…

The BBC first reported last November about the synthetic alternatives possible return and we discussed it on our facebook page at the time about how many lower level English football teams were embracing the return of artificial grass sports pitches.

Oldham Athletic, Preston North End, Luton Town and QPR all used to have an artificial pitch until they were banned by the Football Association in the 80's. Technology has advanced significantly since the 1980's and a number of prestigious clubs in Europe play on artificial pitches. The types of yarns used are much softer and the nasty knee grazes are a thing of the past. Shaped yarn technology also adds to the realism enabling the yarn to better stand up – this technology is also seen in our artificial lawn products.

Lower level teams in Scotland play on them and UEFA allows Champions League games on them. Even Wembley is made up of about 10% plastic grass which put an end to all its previous well documented pitch problems.

We have heard players and groundsmen complain about artificial pitches (injury, speed, realism, quality of football etc) but for lower level clubs it could provide a solution for extra income (hiring out for example) and it would reduce maintenance costs and give the club a place to train (potentially no need for separate training ground). There may also be community schemes and grants the soccer clubs could take advantage of as the synthetic pitch would benefit the community if available to them.

A positive move in favour of their return would be a significant one for the synthetic grass industry at a time when trading is still tough and many commercial budgets have been cut. It was thought this idea was not even on the table, but it seems it is now a real possibility. However, expect their to be strong objections from the premier league, who have the worlds best brand of football to protect – it appears one rule for lower leagues and one rule for the premier league for all weather pitches would not be considered.

Evergreens UK install Artificial Grass at Heathrow Olympic Terminal

Many of the world’s top athletes will be admiring grass this summer supplied by the country’s leading artificial lawn specialists.

Rutland based Evergreens UK, have just finished laying 1600 square metres of their LazyLawn synthetic grass at the temporary Olympic Terminal that will be used by athletes leaving for home from Heathrow Airport after the Olympic Games in August.

The Olympic Terminal has been built solely for "Games Family" departures, and will be used for the three days after the closing ceremony on 12 August.

More than 10,000 athletes and 37,000 bags will be diverted away from the other terminals during the period. Some 80% of Olympic visitors are due at the airport, with August 13 expected to be Heathrow's busiest day ever.

Inside the terminal a synthetic grassed area will give the approach a more prestigious look, with Evergreens UK “proud and delighted” to be able to say they have played their part in London’s hosting of the world’s top sports festival.

“It is a high profile contract win for us, and we’re very proud and delighted that the world’s finest athletes will be able to walk across our artificial grass before they leave for home, hopefully with fantastic memories from London 2012” said company spokesman Andy Driver.

“As visitors arrive at the terminal they will be greeted by a luscious green perfectly trimmed surface. The athletes will be travelling home in first class style enhancing their London 2012 experience.”

This is one of a number of artificial grass projects Evergreens UK have been selected to install for the games based on quality products and first rate workmanship.

Construction of the terminal - which is roughly the size of three Olympic swimming pools - began in February in an area that is normally used for staff car parking on the south side of the airport.

No flights will leave from the terminal, so athletes will be bussed to departure lounges.

With 31 check-in desks and seven security lanes, BAA expect athletes to take just 30 minutes to pass through the facility. Many of the athletes will be able to check in their luggage at the Olympic Village, ahead of arriving at the airport.

Heathrow is expecting a 35% increase in baggage on 26 July and 13 August, with around 15% of the 200,000 items expected on those days likely to be oversized luggage such as sporting equipment.

The synthetic turf products of today are much different than the products used in the 1960’s and 70’s. However, Artificial Turf Supply is proud to provide the latest generation of synthetic turf products using 100 percent polyethylene.  As leading artificial turf manufacturers in the nation, we provide a non-abrasive material that is 100 microns thick and features a second thatch of texturixed polyethylene.  The final result is a material that looks, feels, and performs much like natural grass — and it is creating a stir among homeowners and businesses across the nation as a newfound alternative to natural grass landscaping.

Welcome to the new generation of synthetic turf. Our residential-grade artificial grass does not contain any toxic substances of heavy metals. The main backing is a heat- and UV-resistant, three layer, woven material, with the ability to withstand stretching and distortion. The secondary backing is designed to saturate the primary backing and exceeds strict industry requirements.

At Artificial Turf Supply, we know that homeowners and entrepreneurs are discriminating when it comes to synthetic grass. This is why we provide the discerning homeowner with only quality synthetic turf products, making it easy for them to invest in something that truly looks and feels much like natural grass. Browse our products to learn more about the artificial turf lawn that is right for you.

One of the most common myths about synthetic turf is that it is unsafe for athletes. More specifically, opponents of synthetic grass claim it increases sports injuries, including head injuries, and increases the chance of skin burns and infections. However, several well-known studies have debunked these claims, proving that the injury risk of playing on artificial grass is no greater than playing on natural grass.

In three 2010 long-term studies, researchers from Norway and Sweden compared acute injuries on synthetic turf and natural grass, according to the Synthetic Turf Council. The researchers looked at hundreds of players during thousands of hours of matches and training sessions. They examined the type, location, and severity of the injuries. After three long-term studies, they concluded what we’ve known all along: the injury risk of playing on a synthetic turf athletic field is no greater than playing on a natural grass field.

At Artificial Turf Supply, we specialize in manufacturing safe and durable athletic-grade synthetic turf, ideal for soccer, football, baseball, and multi-purpose fields. Our synthetic grass fields are not only safe and durable, but also extremely easy to maintain and very affordable. We invite you to visit our website, www.artificialturfsupply.com, to learn more about athletic synthetic turf solutions or to request a quote for artificial turf prices.

Artificial grass is the best kept secret in the residential landscaping industry; it is eco-friendly, water-wise, and maintenance-free. It’s also very life-like! Advanced technology makes it look, feel, and perform just like natural grass. And with so many options to choose from — including dual-tone and multi-hued turfs — it’s easy to find one that suits your needs and lifestyle.

So what is the best artificial grass for residential lawns? Artificial Turf Supply provides homeowners with a full line of residential-grade synthetic turf for home landscaping projects. Our residential turf differs from our athletic turf or commercial-grade products. The secret’s out: outdoor artificial turf lends softness and beauty to your home while saving money on water and maintenance costs. It’s often used in front yards, yet more people are installing them in roof top gardens, poolside areas, and other creative areas around the home. They’re especially pretty among natural flowers and trees, or bordering walkways and entrances.

The America’s Cup yachting race is one of the oldest, and highest profile, sporting contests in the World and for the Newport 2012 meet in the USA, Evergreens UK manufactured Logo Mats to enhance the spectacle.

Next year, the 34th America’s Cup takes place in San Francisco, USA. And as a forerunner to that, the America’s Cup World Series was launched last year, with top sailing teams from around the world preparing for the main event by competing for the inaugural title.

As you would expect from a Blue Riband occasion, the first America’s Cup World Series – which has just finished in Rhode Island, USA – was a glittering occasion, attracting large crowds and big television audiences.

Oracle Racing were the first ever winners of this Series. But they were not the only successful team in Rhode Island. Other victors included Britain’s top specialists in artificial grass, Evergreens UK.

No, they have not been out and bought a competition yacht! But in what was a highly prestigious client win for them, Evergreens UK were chosen to supply the logo mats that promoted the event. And they won high praise from the organisers or the finished product.

And as you would expect with such a prestigious occasion, the organisers wanted more than just a mat – they wanted theirs to stand out and be noticed. Evergreens UK, of course, duly obliged.

Using their wide variety of artificial grass colours for which they have become reknown at home and abroad, they made sure they delivered a fantastic, and strikingly original, product - ensuring the branded logo mats they produced stood out during the event, and delighted the organisers.

But it is not just the organisers of the Americas Cup World Series that appreciate the virtues of logo mats. More and more customers at home and abroad are appreciating their value as a cheery welcome gesture into a building or on to an exhibition stand.

Essentially, they make an impact, and get the client’s message across, and most importantly, they make sure their customer’s brand reaches the public eye.

For Evergreens UK, every customer is important. Taking the time to understand their brief is what has made their logo mats so successful with customers at home and abroad.

Evergreen UK leave no proverbial stone unturned in their quest to ensure they deliver precisely to their client’s requirements. In this case the brief was to produce a mat with a subtle and classy look. The Funky Black and Funky Urban Grey products were chosen. These are the highest grade specialist coloured synthetic products available on the market today. The mats were produced in a number of different sizes, all complete with backing and bevel edging allowing for multiple use.

The success of their branded mats at the prestigious America's Cup World Series in the United States - where their work was seen and admired by some of the biggest names in sport and business - is yet another reason why the Evergreens UK name has developed an international reputation for their excellence.

Yet another Promotional vehicle addition to compliment Evergreens iconic fleet which includes…

?  VW Van  ?  VW Beetles  ?  VW Split Screen Camper Van  ?  VW ‘Shorty’ Camper Van  ?  Land Yacht Air Stream

Read on to find out about the adventure involved in collecting it!

The latest purchase was collected by Peter, one of Evergreens UK brave installers (did I say brave?)…

The race was on to arrive in Helsinki, Finland before the annual heavy snow fall which was un-seasonally late. The journey to collect this rare 1967 21 Window VW Samba Bus started from our Head Office in Oakham, Rutland in late December 2011 using our new VW Transporter Van accompanied with our Vehicle Trailer. Peter travelled through France, Belgium and Germany and arrived at the port of Trabemunde (Germany). A total of 14 hours driving took place prior to a 30 hour ferry ride to Helsinki, where the Bus was previsoulsy owned for a number of years.  The bus was soon loaded and a repeat journey took place.

The total journey time was a whacking 88 hours. ”What a great trip, but very tiring!” Peter – Evergreens UK.

The vehicle is now safe and sound back in sunny England where it will live the rest of its days as a promotional bus for the companies leading artificial lawn brand. It will be fully restored and sign written to promote artificial grass and join our collection of VW’s and an Airstream.

The 2012 new series of Big Brother kicks off on Tuesday 5th June at 9pm on Channel 5 where Artificial Turf specialists Evergreens UK have earned themselves a high profile role with their LazyLawn brand.

The 2012 Big Brother House has been given a glamorous facelift with the garden looking equally spectacular thanks to the new fake lawn supplied by the Rutland based, but nationwide company.

"We're all Big Brother fans, so to be involved with the production for a 7th year is fantastic. It’s been a hugely popular show, full of extraordinary characters and innovative ideas," said LazyLawn spokesman Andy Driver.

The housemates will be enjoying the great outdoors and soaking up the sun in the Garden this summer, and what better way to do this than not having to worry about any mundane garden chores. “Letting some of the housemates loose with a mower could be fun. It maybe even funnier to watch them try and mow an artificial lawn,” joked Andy.

"Hopefully the garden will have a significant role to play during the course of the series, and viewers will be impressed with the way our LazyLawn product looks."

This is the second piece of big news announced by the LazyLawn brand in the past few days, after it was revealed Evergreens UK had provided the synthetic grass being used at the 'Olympic Terminal' at Heathrow Airport as well as 3 other Olympic related projects.

The Big Brother house for 2012 is now all ready to welcome the latest batch of contestants. It looks stunning inside and out and with a lawn almost fit for the queen - well maybe for the first few hours after the housemates are in any way!

Enjoy the new BB series and enjoy the Jubilee Weekend!

Artificial Grass for a new primary school.

Evergreens  UK was specified and selected  as a preferred  supplier and installer of synthetic grass for the new development at East Anton Primary School. Read on to find out about this project and see more fantastic images.

Evergreens UK worked in conjunction with the main contractor (Mansell) on behalf of Hampshire County Council, and a design company, RPS Group, to install Lazylawn’s new range of  Wonder Yarn to three main areas within the School  grounds to create  a low maintenance, highly useable year round artificial lawn. Each area had its own technical installation challenges due to the shape and contours (groundworks) required.

Outside this fantastic new school is a landscaped area including a number of copse habitat areas to encourage biodiversity and accommodate nature study zones for pupil use. A landscaped courtyard area will be used for outside learning, outside dining and community use out of school hours. “Once it’s finished, it’ll be state of the art – with craft areas, a music and drama studio, I.T suites, food technology rooms, two playgrounds and a sports field” – well… they weren’t wrong! – This grassy area is greener more so now than the park is used to be!

Area 1 was a 60 metre snaking river that runs between specialist paving and landscaped boarders.  This area required over 550 sqm’s of Synthetic Turf and was installed in 3 days including ground works.

Area 2 was an enclosed court yard that contained two raised and contoured beds, and a large circular grass seating area.  This area proved the most challenging as special care was ensured to make sure the grass followed the contours.  All Artificial Grass had to be carried out with pile directions running in the same direction and without visible seams.  This area was carried out by three of the companies most experienced fitters from head office.

Area 3 was to the front of the school –  it was a large impressive stepped amphitheatre design, that also totalled in excess of 500 sq mtrs. The school children are very lucky to have such amazing facilities – we don’t think too many pupils will be missing school with outside spaces such as this!

All three areas required a total of 35 tons of granite stone, 1300 sq mtrs of Wonder Yarn 36mm and 12 tons of kiln dry sand (infill).  The whole project was installed over a period of 14 days by 5 of the “lazy boys” from Evergreens LazyLawn Head Office.  Come to think of it… not so lazy?!

Artificial grass is an industry that is on the rise - and as more people increasingly realise the benefits, it is no surprise! The seemingly persistent rain that has bedevilled this country over the past few months is just one example of why more customers are turning to the option of installing a synthetic lawn: the rain keeps falling, the grass keeps growing, but mowing it in the wet is not easy. Consequently, your back garden starts to look scruffy, and you are at the mercy of the elements.

The older generation take great pride in their gardens, and it is for this reason that they, as much as any section of society, are choosing the option of an artificial lawn.

For the elderly, imitation grass offers a real benefit, especially with many people living longer nowadays, and remaining independent well into their 80's and even 90's.

For them, spending more time at home than most makes it increasingly important for them to be able to use and enjoy a garden, but without the worry of having to maintain it themselves, rely on the goodwill of others, or even pay someone to come in and keep it tidy.

Think about it, for the elderly, who - with respect - are not as mobile as they used to be, mowing the lawn regularly, or even at all, can be extremely difficult if not impossible. Watering the grass to maintain its condition in hot weather is extremely demanding, and for those who have pets for company, letting the dog out for exercise in bad weather can not only churn up the grass, but brings muddy paws indoors, too.

The same problems affect disabled members of the community. They too are increasingly opting for a fake lawn to ensure their gardens look pristine throughout the year, without the worry of maintaining them. Not only that, artificial turf is perfect for wheelchair uses, because the indent of the wheels make little impact, whereas on a soggy lawn mobilising around it can end up leaving mud tracks.

By installing artificial grass, moving around the lawn, cutting it, watering it, maintaining it: all these problems become extinct. And even if there's no garden, then a small patio, or even balcony, can be made much more attractive with artificial grass installed. That bit of green, can make all the difference.

Many residential care homes for the elderly and disabled people have already installed synthetic grass in their grounds; apart from lowering maintenance costs it means residents being able to use the grassed areas much more throughout the year, and without risk of slipping on muddy areas after it has been raining.

Having perfectly maintained green grass all year round holds real value for the older generation, the less mobile, and wheelchair users. It takes away a lot of frustration, and it gives them the pride of looking out at a beautiful lawn come rain, hail or shine. Not only that, they have the convenience of being able to use their lawn at any time of the year.

So it is no surprise the artificial option is becoming more agreeable to so many!

Crumb rubber is often recommended as an infill material placed between the blades of an artificial grass lawn; it’s used to stand up fake turf blades and to create a softer feeling when walked on. But some people are reasonably concerned about the health risks associated with using crumb rubber. Is a material made from reclaimed tires safe to use around children? Yes; this popular infill option for synthetic turf fields is harmless.

According to research and studies since the late 1980s, crumb rubber is a safe infill material for children and people of all ages. It has been safely used in synthetic turf products since 1997. But that’s not all. Artificial residential turf is not the only product that features crumb rubber.  It can be found in many consumer products, ranging from children’s toys to food packaging; it’s even found in gum.  The reality is crumb rubber is a material human beings come in contact with on a daily basis.

Artificial Turf Supply is proud to offer crumb rubber infill to consumers who want to add a safe dimension of realism to their synthetic grass landscaping solutions. We recommend crumb rubber infill to transform artificial lawns, commercial playground structures, dog exercise runs, and high traffic areas. Evergreens LazyLawn synthetic grass welcomed guests to the VTB Capital Investment Forum RUSSIA CALLING: London Session at the Andaz Hotel, 22 – 24 May 2012.

With its reputation as the United Kingdom's leading provider of artificial grass, Evergreens UK is used to being involved in some of the country's highest profile events and conferences.

But Evergreen's increasing profile is also leading to the company to being invited to provide its products for major international events and conferences. The latest opportunity came at the recent VTB Capital Investment Forum Russia Calling, in London.

Russia Calling is a prestigious event for some of the UK's biggest companies to meet the top management of leading Russian businesses, aimed at encouraging direct dialogue with investors.

As part of the overall ambiance at the Andaz Hotel in London, Evergreens supplied 200 square metres of LazyLawn Wonder Yarn plastic grass, one of its leading products, to be used for walkways and an alternative flooring finish. It was a perfect showcase, and proved a big hit with delegates of both countries.

Wonder Yarn was the perfect fit for the occassion - its natural appearance gives it a genuine look and feel of a natural lawn. No surprise, then, that the LazyLawn team won rave reviews from British and Russian delegates for their display, with visitors admitting that the artificial lawn gave a first class finish to the walkways and event as a whole.

Evergreens UK is regularly invited to provide event flooring surfaces to give a "real feel" to the occassion. The event in London was another high profile opportunity for the company whose products will soon be seen nightly on national television in the coming weeks. Evergreens have provided the imitation lawn for this series of 'Big Brother', which gets underway shortly on Channel 5.

And international athletes taking part in this year's Olympic Games in London will be welcomed by LazyLawn products when they use Heathrow's temporary terminal, being built specifically to cope with the Olympians as they head for home in the three days after the closing ceremony.

From the Olympic Games to high profile TV programmes, to international business conferences - Evergreens has the the perfect product to inject real life into any event or display at home or abroad.

A company proud of its reputation for excellence at home, and one that increasingly flourishes worldwide.

One of the highlights of the London Olympic Games has been the excellence of the TV coverage.

If you failed to secure a ticket, then watching on television is a totally acceptable alternative. And that coverage has highlighted the magnificence of the venues - such as Lords, which hosted the archery - which have looked fantastic.

Well, Evergreens UK and it's LazyLawn brand are proud of the part it has played in making it happen for the millions of viewers at home!

Evergreens UK has enjoyed a good Olympics. The company supplied the artificial grass laid throughout the Olympic terminal area at Heathrow Airport where visiting Olympic athletes will be bid farewell when they head for home after the closing ceremony.

But that was just the start. Evergreens UK have also been supplying the artificial grass for events like the archery at Lords. Lords, of course, is an iconic venue, the home of cricket.

And with a Test match on the horizon shortly after the Olympics, keeping the playing surface in good order while 128 archers, judges, officials and others trod the turf, the artificial alternative supplied by Evergreens UK has played a significant role.

They did likewise at the Lee Valley Centre that hosted the Olympic canoe tournament. And at Hampton Court Palace, which hosted the start and finish of the men's and women's Time Trials in the Road Cycling competition.

Obviously, enhancing the general look of of the venues was just one reason behind the decision to call for the expert help and top class (the Olympics expects only the best!) products of Evergreens UK.

And the awful British weather this summer was another factor behind calling on Evergreens UK to produce the goods. The bad weather had effected the look of these venues, and organisers needed them to look in pristine condition. The only way to guarantee that is by laying fake grass - whatever the weather, a synthetic surface always looks green and lush.

But to make the venues look so good on television, the production teams and engineers needed to make sure that the myriad of cables that go with putting on an outside broadcast as big as the Olympics  were out of sight, to make sure that it did not spoil the enjoyment of viewers worldwide, not to say the spectators at the venues as well. And of course  enhancing TV coverage is common ground for the UK's biggest supplier of fake grass, supplying many top shows including Top Gear, Red or Black, DIY SOS and Big Brother.

An artificial lawn is able to make sure that happens. A product called Viva by LazyLawn was used on all projects, with an 18mm pile height, which is made of three colours to closely imitate natural grass. This mid-range product was a perfect choice for these prestigious events, because the product combines quality and value - which met all the criteria the organisers were after.

So an Olympic winning performance by Evergreens UK to enhance the overall look of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Oh - and any grass that is made available by the contractors at the end of the event will be donated to charity or re-cycled locally!

Artificial Turf London for Samsung Promotion

Click here to read all about how a small Evergreens artificial turf football pitch made such a big impact! Also see the video that takes Victoria Station by storm!

Evergreens UK supplied and manufactured a mini Artificial Turf Football Pitch to a major Media Company in London, as part of an advertising campaign for the new Galaxy Note by Samsung – a new type of smart phone.

The company recently held a ‘flash kick’ at London’s busy Victoria station in association with ESPN – the TV Sports network. A voice can be heard saying: ‘May I have your attention please. The football pitch is now open’. A man in ordinary clothes then enters the small pitch and begins to show off his football skills. A crowd of commuters gathers and he is joined by a man in work wear. Two men in suits then join in, followed by a referee.

The four footballers use fancy footwork, along with the ‘brilliant screen and innovative S Pen of the Samsung GALAXY Note, to transform a routine commute into a spectacular event for Londoners’. Onlookers had the chance to take pictures and footage using their smart phones.

The Synthetic Turf Pitch used in this event promotion is made from our exclusive Wonder Yarn Artificial Grass. This product is perfect for games as it is developed from specially shaped fibres which give the product super resilience, durability and bouncebackability! Great for silky soccer skills.

Logo Mats produced by Evergreens UK for F1 Communications

The start of the new Formula One season is already causing much debate and speculation, as last year's champion Sebastian Vettel faces pressure to hold on to his title for another year and several countries return to the fold.

Some of the biggest changes in store for the 2012 F1 season include the return of the United States Grand Prix and Bahrain Grand Prix, the latter of which was cancelled in 2011 due to concerns over security during the rioting in the Middle East. The United States Grand Prix will take place at a new circuit in Austin, Texas, while the Santander British Grand Prix will once again return to Silverstone, on 8 July.

There have also been clampdowns by the FIA on driving behaviour such as the increasing reliance of drivers on off-throttle blown diffusers for creating greater down-force, which puts drivers at greater risk. F1 vehicles themselves have also been subject to new design regulations, most notably the reduced height of car noses off the ground to 55 centimetres (22 inches).

The 2012 season begins on 18 March with the Qantas Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne's Albert Park, and culminates with the Grande Prêmio do Brasil at São Paulo's Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The Formula One season comprises 20 races, and for those watching at home in the UK, a deal brokered between the BBC and Sky Sports will see these events being evenly distributed between the broadcasters.

The deal marks the first time that F1 races won't be widely available on terrestrial television in the UK - in the past they had either been available exclusively on the BBC, or on ITV - however the move to Sky hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of Formula One fans, perhaps in part because of the Sky Sports F1 channel the broadcast giant will launch to coincide with the start of the season.

The last few Formula 1 seasons have proved to be some of the most exciting in the storied history of the sport, and fans will be hoping for even more of the same this year. Whether you're a casual fan sitting at home watching the race unfold, or an enthusiast to the point that you've customised logo mats bearing the emblem of your favourite team, you'll hopefully have something to shout about over the coming season. Just don't get carried away when you're behind the wheel of your own car!

 Cat sitting on artificial grass

As the market for artificial grass continues to grow apace, you are now just as likely to see it in your neighbour’s back garden, as you are at the local sports club. Better manufacturing techniques, combined with increasing awareness of the longer term environmental and economic benefits, is winning over new converts to artificial grass day in day out. Parents of young children have long since appreciated the merits of it. And now there are a new group of converts: pet lovers.

Many people considering the idea of synthetic turf have pets to consider. But there is nothing to consider: dogs treat artificial grass no differently to a natural lawn. Indeed, you, your dog or cat, and the garden, will all be better off with artificial grass! An artificial lawn is available to your pets all year round, whatever the weather or conditions. Gone will be those frustrating days when the dog comes running indoors with muddy paws.

Artificial grass is permeable, so when the dog raises a leg, it drains through the surface. Neither will the garden suffer from the effects of dog faeces – it is easy to clean and disinfect. Your grass will look the same all year round, whatever the weather, and will provide a safe and clean environment for you and your dog to enjoy. Here are five sound reasons why we believe installing artificial grass deserves serious consideration by pet lovers:-

* No more heavy stained or yellow areas.
* No more dog runs on the lawn.
* No more brown spots.
* No more muddy paw prints indoors.
* Easily cleaned – just hose down and disinfect.

Most synthetic grass is dog and cat friendly. And if you are worried about your dog digging up the grass edges, be assured that the sand infill and strong adhesive on the joins keeps the astro turf secured in position.

With a LazyLawn artificial lawn, you can relax while your pet frolics and plays. And never again will you need to fret about your dog running indoors caked in mud.
Everyone is a winner with an artificial lawn!

Better to Buy than Hire Artificial Grass

If you are considering holding an event, hiring artificial grass may seem like a cheaper alternative to purchase. But is it really the best answer?

We are often asked to hire artificial grass but purchase is invariably the best solution. Here’s why:

There is the overall look of the event to consider – used astro turf or artificial grass will not be as visually appealing as a newly installed artificial grass. Used second hand (or even third hand products) and this could’ve been cut and re-joined where it has been used in the past. This can also present a health and safety hazard with the potential for tripping. You also have to consider the cost of collection and delivery of second hand fake grass. Finally there is the cost of cleaning ,un-installing (derig) of your second hand grass.

After your event you may be liable for any damage, and together with initial hire prices your costs can soon rack up. That’s why at Evergreens UK we do not hire artificial grass. We provide full delivery and installation of new artificial turf to meet the highest standards and safety for the event.

Our Springfield Curl artificial turf is ideal for events and offers great value for money at only £6.95 p/sqm (+vat).

Not only that, but your event will look incredible!
