Artificial grass is an industry that is on the rise - and as more people increasingly realise the benefits, it is no surprise! The seemingly persistent rain that has bedevilled this country over the past few months is just one example of why more customers are turning to the option of installing a synthetic lawn: the rain keeps falling, the grass keeps growing, but mowing it in the wet is not easy. Consequently, your back garden starts to look scruffy, and you are at the mercy of the elements.
The older generation take great pride in their gardens, and it is for this reason that they, as much as any section of society, are choosing the option of an artificial lawn.
For the elderly, imitation grass offers a real benefit, especially with many people living longer nowadays, and remaining independent well into their 80's and even 90's.
For them, spending more time at home than most makes it increasingly important for them to be able to use and enjoy a garden, but without the worry of having to maintain it themselves, rely on the goodwill of others, or even pay someone to come in and keep it tidy.
Think about it, for the elderly, who - with respect - are not as mobile as they used to be, mowing the lawn regularly, or even at all, can be extremely difficult if not impossible. Watering the grass to maintain its condition in hot weather is extremely demanding, and for those who have pets for company, letting the dog out for exercise in bad weather can not only churn up the grass, but brings muddy paws indoors, too.
The same problems affect disabled members of the community. They too are increasingly opting for a fake lawn to ensure their gardens look pristine throughout the year, without the worry of maintaining them. Not only that, artificial turf is perfect for wheelchair uses, because the indent of the wheels make little impact, whereas on a soggy lawn mobilising around it can end up leaving mud tracks.
By installing artificial grass, moving around the lawn, cutting it, watering it, maintaining it: all these problems become extinct. And even if there's no garden, then a small patio, or even balcony, can be made much more attractive with artificial grass installed. That bit of green, can make all the difference.
Many residential care homes for the elderly and disabled people have already installed synthetic grass in their grounds; apart from lowering maintenance costs it means residents being able to use the grassed areas much more throughout the year, and without risk of slipping on muddy areas after it has been raining.
Having perfectly maintained green grass all year round holds real value for the older generation, the less mobile, and wheelchair users. It takes away a lot of frustration, and it gives them the pride of looking out at a beautiful lawn come rain, hail or shine. Not only that, they have the convenience of being able to use their lawn at any time of the year.
So it is no surprise the artificial option is becoming more agreeable to so many!
