Adding artificial grass to your rooftop garden can help you to enjoy and add value to your property

According to the Daily Mail, artificial grass and having a rooftop garden’s never been as cool – especially as thousands of city dwellers are now taking advantage of government grants to transform neglected rooftops into “living gardens”.

Even London’s mayor Boris Johnson has come out in support of rooftop gardens. In fact, Mr. Johnson told the Daily Mail that he’d like to see London’s skyline become all the greener – particularly as utilizing roof space can help to add value to a property, making happy home owners of London’s roof gardening set.

And while some city dwellers are grass-seeding their roofs or layering moss and thatch to create a little greenery, gardening pro’s have said that you don’t need to be particularly green fingered to create a living garden.

In fact, home owners could achieve an urban oasis with the minimum of fuss by installing low maintenance artificial grass to create a lovely garden that also features nature-friendly items such as bird baths and plant pots full of fragrant herbs, grasses and flowers to attracts, birds, bees and butterflies.

What’s more, rooftop gardens not only add valuable outdoor living space to a property, but gardening experts say they could add thousands to a property’s value, as well as act as natural soundproofing to help top-floor flats better drown out the sounds of planes overhead.
