Press coverage of Evergreens UK historic flower show firsts

Opening yesterday, the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show (24 – 28 May 2011) is arguably the ultimate event in the gardening calendar.

And as artificial grass featured at Chelsea in both 2009 and 2010, this year’s show could once more bring artificial grass to the attention of green-fingered experts and gardening enthusiasts.

Previously, Evergreens made flower show history by becoming the first retailer invited to show artificial grass at any RHS flower show – Hampton Court 2008 – and to win a Certificate of Merit for doing so.

In 2009, Evergreens repeated the feat by becoming the first very first retailer to display artificial grass at the Chelsea Flower Show.

And in 2010, artificial grass went on to feature in some of Chelsea’s show gardens – winning celebrity fans including Amanda Holden, Phil Spencer and Craig David.

Since being displayed at RHS events, including the Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows, artificial grass has been widely lauded as a modern garden design solution  ideal for gardeners looking for low maintenance and child-friendly lawns.

The RHS itself has even installed artificial grass in some of its high-profile garden attractions – including Kew Gardens and RHS Wisley’s Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon rose garden – since artificial grass’s 2009 Chelsea debut.
