No one can deny that those wondering about the totality of their artificial grass cost do well to give the matter the attention it deserves. However, that tabulation would be a great deal more helpful if it was accompanied by a clear-eyed grasp of what the savings that artificial grass makes possible mean in hard numbers. Depending on your current water use, and plans you’re considering for your future artificial residential turf, those numbers will vary.
Just like any other home improvement project you sally forth with, an investment will have to be made — that much can only be expected from anything related to what for many people is their largest investment: their house. But lest you being to grow any anxiety about it, know that artificial grass prices can be downright reasonable, especially if you know what supplier and manufacturer to go to. At Artificial Turf, we are constantly working to make our products and service better. We’re not ones to cut corners, but we know how to streamline our business to create great offers for you.
When you’re ready for high-quality turf, we’ll be ready to serve you. We’ll also be on hand to give you information about the great savings that await you.

I’ve been struggling to keep my natural grass green since the county had placed a ban on using fertilizers. So I made the switch to synthetic lawn turf. It was a no-brainer. Boy, am I happy I made the switch to a synthetic grass system as opposed to my pain in the butt natural lawn. The old lawn would become muddy for days after it rained which eventually made its way into my house from the kids and dog tracking it in. With synthetic turf installed, I have never seen my kids play in the backyard so much. They absolutely love it and I love all the time saved by not maintaining my pesky natural lawn. Thanks to Artificial Turf Supply for the Do It Yourself tips and the joy of my synthetic lawns.

Here at Evergreens we love a bit of good news, and we are happy to announce that now all of our on-site workers hold Construction Skills Certification Scheme cards – a great achievement for those hardworking artificial grass experts.
Read on and find out how we did it and why CSCS cards are so important.
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme was set up to improve quality within the industry and also to improve safety at work. So when it comes to finding the best company for fitting your artificial grass installation, look no further than our fully certified team here at Evergreens UK.
Since all the team are now CSCS cardholders, Evergreens are now on track to receive a Platinum Certificate of Commitment – demonstrating our expert competency at what we do.
Our expert Installation Co-Ordinator, Dallan Tan, gave us his thoughts on the latest achievement:
• So Dallan, how important is CSCS certification? It is important to prove we have an accreditable installation certificate at time of installation.
• What did you have to do to get your CSCS card? We completed a 45 minute exam compiling of 40 questions designed to test our expertise and knowledge.
• What are important things to consider when choosing a company to install your artificial grass? A proven track record of successful installations and a range of high quality products. We like to show an on-going programme of constantly improved products and service.
• Is there any installation that particularly stands out for you? One particular installation was rather special to me – it was in the centre of London where one full size Football Pitch was installed over 24 hours at David Beckham’s Sports Academy.
• And finally, what would be your dream artificial grass installation? Definitely a two week lawn installation on an exotic island!
Choose a company that has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and pick your artificial grass lawn or promotional logo mats and branded installations from the certified experts here at Evergreens UK.

Fake grass — what do you know about it? You must know something, or at least be curious since you find yourself reading this blog, so unabashedly centered on that topic. If you’re really considering the possibility of joining forces with an artificial grass lawn to make your home more attractive, you’re at the right place.
You should also take this opportunity get familiar with certain terms: yarn type, backing type, and origin of manufacture. There’s no need to have studied rocket science to know that the last one refers to the location of origin of an object or material but, still, you may not realize what a difference that location makes when it comes to overall quality. If you want the best, you want something made in the good ole U.S. of A., and that’s the entirety of Artificial Turf Supply’s products.
As for the other terms mentioned, know that yarn types include polyethylene, polypropylene, and nylon. The best type is the first, polyethylene, and it is what we offer (it’s the most durable). Now, there’s the matter of backing — the best artificial lawns have a backing of urethane and the least desirable have a nylon backing. Steer clear of these last ones.

Artificial Turf, Accepted in Opulent Estates, McMansions, and the Homes of Everyday Folks
Posted by Mofazri at 11:10 PM
Artificial turf is a lot more popular than you may imagine. Have you traipsed your way over to one of those overly lovely homes you really only ever expected to see in the pages of design architecture magazines? You now know, the ones where everything is in its precisely correct location, as if awaiting cameras that uncomprehendingly don’t materialize. If you have, you may have been simply astonished by the exquisite arrangement not just of the interiors, but of the exterior gardens as well. Were you extra surprised when your obliging tour guide revealed that the lawns were of rolling synthetic grass?
Yes, even folks who aren’t worried about making ends meet and can afford to be spendthrifts with their water usage will still decide to go with artificial grass for their lawn covering. It’s a matter of looks and general appeal. But these folks might also have other reasons for choosing to install a fake lawn grass instead of a natural one — they actually care about conserving water!
What are your reasons for considering a switch to synthetic grass? Have you recently become the owner of a pet who’s leaving brown patches all over your once-impeccable lawn? Or are you simply looking for an alternative to the costly upkeep of the lawn you have now?

The first time you see your artificial grass lawn displayed on the spot you chose for it, with such forethought and care, you may feel an irrepressible urge to scream and shout in excitement and satisfaction. That is certainly an experience we hear a lot about from our customers. You see, some people just love the idea of having an artificial turf in their homes or business property, but it’s not until they see it in its full regalia, circumspectly laid out under the bright sun, that they realize just what a stroke of genius their decision to concretize that vision really was.
If you’re among the few that only feel lukewarm about the whole shebang, you may be wondering to yourself, but still aloud, why such a big fuss is made when pondering the decision to commit to natural grass or to be liberated by residential artificial grass. Well, the big deal that surfaces is due to the fact that synthetic grass provides the beauty and look of natural grass, but it doesn’t even need to be watered. It’s also practically pet-proof, especially when to your obstinate pets’ most ordinary misdeeds. Also, people just get incredibly excited when they learn of a way to save loads of money while not having to sacrifice the things they love — like a vibrant and inviting outdoor space.

Things are getting a little hairy round here at Evergreens HQ – with yet another eye-catching install. The team produced a moustache to rival all others and create a promotional campaign for Ginger Joes that certainly stands out from the rest.
Read on and find out how our artificial grass installation and why November is the best month to get working on that ‘tache.
This ‘Movember’ men up and down the country are setting aside their razors and embracing a new look for their facial hair during the month of November – all in the name of charity, of course.
Perhaps you will feel inspired to partake in Movember’s tache-growing fundraiser after our recent install designed for Ginger Joe – a ginger beer product promotion that involved us installing a logo mat featuring a bright red artificial grass moustache of monstrous proportions.
Although the Evergreens team may only dream of growing something quite so eye-catching on our own top lips, as the month progresses an impressive array of moustaches are sure to emerge amongst those British males taking part.
The idea behind Movember was originally conceived in Australia, but now has grown to a worldwide event promoting awareness and raising funds for a number of men’s health issues including depression and prostate cancer.
So as our team work tirelessly on various other artificial grass promotional installations and logo mats many hair follicles will be working just as hard to raise some decent cash for this worthy cause.
We might even update our Facebook page with some of our moustachioed mugs shots so be sure to check and like our page. You could even upload an image of your own – just take a shot of your tache with grass in the background.
Will you be taking part in Movember?

Some people don’t realize that synthetic lawns are what they both want and need. When people buy a new home, they often have fantasies about how moving from a high-rise apartment to a street-level house — one surrounded by the most endearing green grass — will turn them into a total green-thumbs. Unsurprisingly, things don’t always turn out that way. Fervent gardeners hone their skill and appreciation for outdoor life throughout their lifetimes. For folks unaccustomed to such activities, engaging in them more than a few times a year can prove overwhelming. The thing is, realizing that gardening is not their forte does not take very long, nor does realizing that it’s just not something they’re interested in. Cheers to knowing yourself.
Yes, hearts do change, but something that won’t vacillate on you is synthetic lawn turf. This sturdy ground covering will remain steadfast in its color, suppleness, and versatility — all year long. But what’s really important here is that you’ll get all the beauty of a vibrant and green garden without the time commitment, or maintenance costs, that a natural lawns demand.
So get your new home decked out with artificial grass. It’s the smart investment for those who enjoy the fruits of gardening, but not the activity itself.

The kids might be back in school, but you’ll have them rushing home by adding artificial grass lawns and play-areas to your back garden or roof terrace.
Read on for five reasons why you and your kids will love coming home to artificial grass.
It’s that time of year again when the kiddies disappear through the school gates and fun-filled playgrounds keep them entertained on their lunch breaks.
But if you want to give your kids something to look forward about coming home to then why not add artificial grass to your back garden?
Not only is artificial grass easy to maintain, colourful and better at cushioning those inevitable bumps, but there are so many reasons your little darlings will love their new play area too…
Artificial grass play areas help to …
1. Unleash their creativity
From a race track to a fairy-tale kingdom, there are endless possibilities when it comes to giving your play area a theme. With coloured artificial grass and specially-designed artificial grass play area, you can help them indulge in creative play.
2. Keep them smiling
All children are prone to bumps and bruises now and then, but artificial grass is soft, springy and can cushion the blow of any trips, falls or stumbles better than natural grass lawns. Take the worry off your mind and let them indulge in a little rough and tumble.
3. Keep them sneeze-free
With artificial grass pesky grass allergies and hay fever can be a thing of the past. Unlike natural turf, an artificial version will not harbour those horrid allergens that cause sniffles and sneezes.
4. Protect your carpets
Every parent will understand how annoying it can be to have dirt traipsed all the way through a clean house. An artificial grass play area is clean and dirt free … so dirty carpets no more.
5. Keep clothes and school uniforms in tip-top nick
Say goodbye to grass stains with an artificial grass play area. No longer do you have to spend hours scrubbing pesky stains out of just-bought school uniforms.
Would your kids love to come home to an artificial grass play area?

Since I had my artificial lawn put in, I am enjoying more football than ever (College and NFL). Who would have thought that fake grass would be the game changer?! I am spending a tenth of the time with the upkeep of my yard as I used to before I made the switch to artificial grass turf. I just use my leaf blower occasionally to clear off leaves. With synthetic lawns, grass stains and mud ruining the kids clothes are a thing of the past. Best of all, the kids and our dog love to play on the grass too! Thanks ATS.

Check out our guide to keeping your lawn looking awesome this autumn with artificial grass.
This year has seen weather patterns turned upside down, and even the experts are baffled as to what we can expect next.
The one thing we do know for sure is that these constantly changing weather conditions will make it even harder to take care of natural lawns and gardens.
The unpredictable weather may produce some rather unfortunate results…

After a hot summer, thirsty natural lawns will struggle to absorb water and could wilt and bald
Mowing conditions will get worse, causing gardens to look overgrown and untidy
So what’s the best way to stay house proud and keep your garden lovely this season?
Rather than allowing your garden to turn into a jungle this autumn, keep it pristine by installing a super synthetic lawn which requires minimum maintenance and will reward you with a healthy green glow right.
Choosing artificial grass will help you enjoy:
No matter what the weather, you can have an even, luscious lawn to turn the neighbours green with envy.
A super healthy-looking lawn right through until spring.

Labels: ARTIFICIAL, famous, GRASS
In the Southwest, constant drought and even expected low periods of rainfall have made artificial turf exceptionally fashionable. Everyone wants a uniformly green lawn to go sit in and read on while comfortably reclining on a lawn chair on weekends. Certain individuals, also, dearly esteem their fake grass lawns because they provide the perfect setting to hold their fabulous garden parties over. However, all of these wonderful activities are often hampered by uncooperative weather and sustained dire climactic events.
Fake grass provides its owners with a clear way out of these limiting factors. If the bad weather of the last six weeks has really messed up your natural grass, there’s no way you can host your backyard party until the atmosphere has improved enough to give your grass a chance at recuperation. Recuperation takes weeks! By having artificial grass installed in your home, you’ll be able to host your backyard celebration the moment the weather gives its first respite.
But that is not the only reason to have synthetic turf installed in your home. Synthetic turf is also genuinely attractive. It will stay green through every season of the year and it will not demand that you fertilize it or even trim it. Areas with severe water restrictions are currently seeing a rise in the demand for artificial turf. Still, many people use synthetic turf for reasons that have more to do with functionality than with the need to keep a beautiful green lawn in the front or back of their homes. For some purposes, like for creating pet training areas, natural grass does not beat the advantages of fake turf.
Fake turf provides the surface that will sustain the heaviest use and keep its good face on throughout the wear. For the most part, simple washing down and brushing up suffice to keep a synthetic turf area looking groomed and well-kept.

Adding artificial grass bowls banks and ditches can improve tired bowling greens
The BBC has traced Britain’s love affair with exciting bowls games and relaxing bowling greens just in time for the beginning of the outdoor season. The series is sure to entice players to their local green, complete with artificial bowls banks and ditches.
And while indoor and outdoor bowls are hugely popular – with 400,000 bowlers in England and 90,000 in Scotland, the BBC has reported that cost-cutting councils and property developers could be threatening the availability of the game.
According to the BBC, John Woodcock, the MP for Barrow and Furness, has proposed a parliamentary bill that would protect bowling greens from being redeveloped or sold-off by local councils looking to raise funds.
Mr. Woodcock told the BBC that natural and artificial bowling greens are quintessentially British, and should be preserved for future generations.
The game, Mr. Woodcock said, should not only be associated with crisp linens, manicured lawns and good sportsmanship, but should also be considered as of historic value. The sport, once officially endorsed by British royalty, has survived for centuries and its roots are long and well established.
Mr. Woodcock also told the BBC that bowls was one of the very few sports which old and young people could play together.
The bowls fan also added that refurbishing neglected bowling greens and safeguarding popular bowling greens could help to build and foster community spirit.
Many bowling lawns could be revitalized and made good for gaming with a little care and the addition of artificial bowls banks and ditches.
Synthetic lawns are made of futuristic materials that deliver the best present-day value; that’s really only to be expected. However, even these other-worldly and incredibly reliable materials need care too. Everyday hazards can be avoided quite simply by following commonsense and minding where you place things. For instance, you don’t want to drive up your family cars onto the pristine lawn. It’s not good for natural grass and it’s not good for the even stronger synthetic kind either.
Parking cars on the synthetic turf grass you selected and bought with so much consideration and effort will give rise to messy situations. Maybe you don’t especially mind oil stains on your pebbly driveway, but if those same stains appear on the surface of your lawn they will do you no favors. The stains are a result of leaking transmission fluids, grease, oil, and even acid from the car’s battery. These are gruesome substances once they leave their designated spaces inside your car’s engine. Even engine exhaust can be harmful to your nicely groomed lawn.
More simply put, synthetic lawns have many uses, but being the surface on which to conduct car repairs does not happen to be one of them. Even if you could afford it, there’s no point in buying more artificial lawns if they will be used for an inapplicable purpose. Parking or repairing cars on artificial turf is not a good idea because there’s no way to avoid staining and discoloration on account of the leaking car fluids. It’s an easy hazard to avoid and doing so will save you tons of grief. If your lawn does experience some staining, there’s not better advice to give than to go ahead and clean it up with soap and water as soon as possible. Treating the stain quickly will not allow it harden and become an even bigger headache.

England Rugby Artificial Grass Logo Mat
The England Rugby team ran out on a new black Artificial Grass Logo Mat last weekend as they entered the Twickenham pitch with their encounter with Wales. The durable logo mat was produced in our UK factory using different shades of red and green for the rose detail. It was also edged with anti-trip edging so the mat could be laid over the existing logo space.
England were performing in their new black away kit, hence they decided to exchange their regular white artificial grass logo mat with a new black background area.
See the mat being produced on Evergreens UK You Tube channel.
The new kit has been subject to some controversy as it is the same colour as the New Zealand All Blacks kit – New Zealand are hosting the Rugby World Cup where England plan to wear this kit for some of the games, but England did confirm with the NZ rugby authorities that they were happy for them to have a black change strip.
The black kit did not disappoint (especially female fans admiring its tight fit on Moody and co.) and England ran out 23-19 winners with the ever dependable Jonny Wilkinson kicking 2 drop goals, 2 conversions, 1 penalty and setting up Leicester Tigers young star (and England Debutant) Manu Tuilagi for the try of the game with a sweet inside pass.
England meet Wales again this weekend before their final warm up match against Ireland, before they head of to the World Cup, which is certain to be a quite amazing tournament with Australia, England, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and France amoungst the hot faves to lift the trophy.

Synthetic grass has never looked so much like natural grass. The sand and rubber infill that’s used today sets up the blades to look like the natural arrangement of living grass. Currently, the batches of synthetic grass that are coming out are being called “third generation.” These are the surfaces that are regarded as being unequalled in terms of safety, reliability, and endurance. It only looks like natural grass, because it’s actually better.
Yet, it wasn’t until 2005 that FIFA gave its final seal of approval for the use of the surface for its matches throughout the world. Moreover, FIFA went so far as to develop an original star-rating system for artificial turf fields. Of course, FIFA is not the only governing body of international sports to use synthetic turf. During the European Championships of 2008, artificial grass surfaces were used because unfavorable weather conditions would have made it impossible to hold the games on natural grass. Those games were held in Russia. Despite the unfriendly weather, the players and fans carried on with the matches thanks to the technological advancements of synthetic grass.
Another great benefit that artificial turf offers is the wonderful play surface it provides for matches and other sports activities that must be held indoors. Much research and development is still underway to continue to improve synthetic turf for its wide variety of uses. You can take full advantage of all the available technology by ordering wholesale artificial turf for your home. You’ll improve the looks and functionality of all our outdoor space at home.
When you’re ready, make your way through our site to find all the information you need on the cost and benefits of installing a synthetic grass lawn. Our website was developed with you in mind. Here, you’ll find information on all the lawn systems we offer and also be able to view images of our lawns.

Bring the British Open to your backyard with artificial grass golf products
The British Open has swung into action (10 – 17 July 2011), bringing the golfing greats to Blighty’s shores once more.
But while the world’s best golfers take to the green in a bid to win this year’s championship, new golfers and spectators can get into the swing of things by perfecting their own game at home using artificial grass golf products.
Ken Hambleton recently said that new, amateur and causal golfers can struggle to perfect their game on the traditional course, and could benefit from playing shorter courses that are just 12 holes long.
According to Golf Online, Hambleton even said that new golfers could be put off by the idea of spending four or five hours on the course – especially before they’ve perfected their game.
New golfers can easily tee-off and putt- away by bringing the open to their backyard with the help of artificial putting greens and golf tee mats, the perfect way to make sure they are up to par in private.
And as drought weather could see club lawns dry up, new golfers could get even more from their artificial grass during Open season.

The Difference a Strong Scrubbing Broom and a Little Bit of Extra Infill Make
Posted by Mofazri at 10:30 AM
Once you have it at home, committing to giving adequate cleaning and maintenance to your artificial turf is worth every bit of effort. Regular upkeep of synthetic grass is minimal when compared with that required by natural grass, but that doesn’t mean it’s trivial. To sustain your new lawn’s good appearance, and to keep it usable for many years to come, clean it about once a month. When the time for brightening and sprucing up arrives, take the opportunity to remove all rubbish and any accumulations of loose materials from the lawn. Some debris usually accumulates as a result of natural vegetable and animal matter that’s present in the environment.
Another thing to do is to brush the synthetic turf fibers with a good rake. Passing a rake through the grass will restore its vitality and keep it looking impeccably manicured. Every now and then it’s also good to wash the entire lawn surface down. When you’re out doing the necessary upkeep, it’s essential to select your cleaning and grooming tools carefully. For example, harsh solvents should be avoided — this means alcohol- and acetone-containing cleaners are out as they can harm your beautiful fake lawn grass.
A good rule of thumb when cleaning is to carefully go over the areas of the lawn that endure the heaviest foot traffic or, more generally, just see the most activity. It also helps to retain a good bit of extra infill around; after the lawn goes through its settling period, it’s very common to find small areas with depleted infill. This is perfectly normal. To replenish the area’s infill, simply add the extra rubber/sand in thin layers and brush over it with a scrubbing broom. As you go over it, run the broom in multiple directions. Keeping these simple things in mind will keep your lawn going wonderfully strong.

Artificial Grass installed at Silverstone for the F1 British Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton (GBR) McLaren Mercedes races by. Picture courtesy of Silverstone.
Your eyes may be firmly fixed on the tarmac during the MotoGP AirAsia British Grand Prix and forthcoming Formula 1 fixtures, but you’re sure to catch glimpses of artificial grass during the high-octane racing action as Evergreens‘s artificial play-grass has been used throughout Silverstone’s new Pit and Paddock complex – just in time for the circuit’s biggest fixtures.
The MotoGP showcases some of the world’s best two-wheeled motorsports, and organisers have made sure that Silverstone’s circuit looks just as good as the event it hosts by re-surfacing the ground’s concourse, circuit-side and break-out areas using 450 square metres of synthetic turf.
Artificial grass has been similarly used to spruce up formula one racing grounds in Bahrain and Hockenheim.
Even though petrol heads are more likely to keep their eyes on the racing action instead of Silverstone’s newly laid lawn, the new course is sure to make a great backdrop for future races – especially as former World Superbike rider Cal Crutchlow, the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team and Lewis Hamilton are regulars to Silverstone and are frequently photographed by the circuit-side.

One green fingered blogger has said artificial lawns are set to replace the drudgery of up-keeping withered natural lawns
Britain’s lush green lawns are said to be under threat this summer, as increasing temperatures mean the twin prospects of lawn-withering droughts and hosepipe bans are becoming more and more of a reality.
And, according to one green fingered blogger, there’s never been a better time to switch to artificial grass lawns and roof gardens to ensure your garden stays green regardless of the weather.
Guardian journalist, Joe Moran, agrees that natural lawns are losing out to artificial grass for a number of reasons, not least of all the hassle maintaining a natural lawn causes
“Like a lot of things in life in which we invest our physical and emotional labour, keeping a lawn tidy is ultimately pointless…the grass carries on growing, and the lawnmower eventually packs up,” he said.
Moran also blogged that the environmental reasons for keeping real grass alive are very much null and void, as water-saving artificial grass can be eco-friendly too.
In fact, he said the environmental case for keeping natural lawns instead of artificial lawns is ultimately worthless, since maintaining real grass involves “using up copious amounts of water and chemicals for the benefit of a few species of grass”.
Whereas artificial grass is water-saving and is manufactured from recycled plastic waste products, meaning it’s an eco-friendly choice for green-minded gardeners.
What’s more, artificial grass will look green all year round, meaning summer gardeners don’t need to worry about rising mercury and drought planting, just when to hold their next barbeque.

Artificial grass looks all the greener as gardeners face withered natual lawns as rainfall drops to a record low
The BBC has reported that British gardeners are facing a difficult patch if they are trying to keep their lawns looking lush. The driest spring in over 100 years has left many gardens looking withered ahead of a dry summer, making artificial grass look all the greener in comparison.
According to Peter Gibbs of BBC Radio Four’s Gardeners’ Question Time, record-low rainfall levels have “knocked gardeners off balance”, as many green fingered enthusiasts are unsure of what to plant and when to plant it during current and impending drought conditions.
The BBC has also reported that many gardeners have already had to resort to water saving measures, especially as hosepipe bans are likely to be brought into force over the coming months.
Water saving measures currently being adopted by some drought-stricken gardeners include using hanging baskets with reservoirs which stop water seeping through and buying expensive water retention tablets.
Gardeners are also having to take care to plant flowers, shrubs and herbs which absorb little water.
Popular dry weather plants include lavender, rosemary, geraniums, lilacs, ornamental alliums, pelargoniums and petunias.
Gardeners looking for lush lawns, no matter the weather, can opt for artificial grass instead, which unlike natural grass and most plants, won’t wither in drought weather.
One of the main reasons for synthetic grass having an unchallenged popularity in sports is its capacity to withstand constant, heavy use. No matter the weather conditions, immediate or sustained, synthetic grass remains constant in its state of availability for play. Synthetic grass is so reliable because it does not need to periodically remain in disuse for the purpose of recovery. When natural grass suffers heavy damage as a result of heavy use or severe weather, it must be given a time-out so that it can heal and regenerate. Grass growth takes time and during that waiting period, playing cannot occur.
None of this happens when the playing takes place over the products offered by artificial grass suppliers — like yours truly — because artificial turf is not made of delicate, living grass blades. The material that makes up synthetic grass is sturdy and reliable. With minimum maintenance, it will endure and provide the same quality surface time after time. Time-outs for re-growth are completely irrelevant to artificial grass.
Over natural grass, it’s also impossible to play after there’s been a bout of heavy rainfall or during its daily watering sessions. The only time artificial grass needs water is during its intermittent cleanings. It’s for its incredibly low maintenance requirements that artificial grass is the favored play surface of so many athletes and coaches — the game can always go on.
Because owners of professional parks can get fantastic artificial grass wholesale deals, they don’t mind the upfront cost of a synthetic lawn’s purchase and installation. For folks with more modest budgets, the cost bears some consideration, but it’s not an ordinary person that needs to buy enough artificial grass to cover an entire football field. If your budget is smaller than that of a professional sports team’s owner, it’s very likely that the amount of grass you need to purchase will not be grand. Moreover, its easier upkeep has the potential to save you big bucks.

You have more options than you think when it comes to ordering a fake grass lawn. Synthetic lawns come in many varieties because there are so many applications for the durable and versatile surface. For example, there are lawn applications for which infill is not necessary, but many others for which it is. Evaluating the real use you’ll give to your lawn, if it’s something that you haven’t thought of yet, will be a great aid when it comes time to decide which type of synthetic lawn will actually work best for you.
Landscaping applications and athletic play applications are quite different. Some customers will give more than one use to their artificial lawn, but it’s important to remember your overriding necessities when making your decision. One of the things your most general application will determine is whether your lawn will need infill or not. The infill, which is made of rubber pieces or sand, makes an artificial lawn look and feel more like a natural one. The infill provides added structural support to the individual synthetic grass blades so that they can arrange themselves more like natural ones.
If the ground you cover with fake lawn grass will be the site of constant human or pet activities, then it’s recommended that you select a lawn with infill. If your site will receive heavy traffic, among your many options for lawn systems are our ProPLAY PLUS, PetPRO PLUS, and the LXR PRO series, all with infill. But the fact that a lawn will be used mainly as golf or soccer practice areas does not mean that they will not also be contributing to the beauty and charm of your landscaping. Beyond providing a safe space for athletes to run (skillfully) wild in, the green ground covering will accent your home, pool, and garden. Browse through our website to learn more about the different applications of artificial lawns.

The drought this summer in Texas and surrounding States has been record breaking. With this relentless heat, synthetic grass is one of the fastest growing solutions for natural lawns that have died. Artificial turf is not limited to just these drought areas, but is a popular low-maintenance solution for landscapes nationwide. Other solutions for your yard are to replace it with sod, but this sod can die easily from the heat this year and even next year, or you can replace your grass with decorative rock, but this solution gets very hot and is unattractive and uncomfortable when walking on it.
Synthetic lawns will help you keep a beautiful, green lawn and help prevent the heat from killing your yard. Whether you have pets or kids, a synthetic turf solution is perfect, and everyone will be happy to play on it instead of rocks or pea gravel.
The most important part of an artificial turf lawn is it pays for itself. Typically, synthetic grass will have a lifespan of 15+ years. This means that a 500 square foot yard can cost as low as $17.00 per month. If you compare that to what you spend nowadays on your natural sod lawn, then this solution clearly make sense. I strongly advise anyone that is considering a lawn project to look into the return on investment and choose a synthetic turf lawn instead of throwing your money away with sod and water.

The backside of our property has always been a low swampy pit. When I contacted Artificial Turf Supply about a synthetic turf putting green I was not even thinking to put the putting green in that area. But when I heard that the base material needed for fake grass is drainage rock, I was able to put some ideas together with their sales associate for building up my trouble area and making it usable with artificial grass. I used a ¾ inch road base for about 8 inches to raise it higher than the surrounding area and topped this off with an inch or two of compacted stone dust. It felt like a road when I was finished and all the water drained away from the area. Ever since I completed the artificial putting green I have been thinking about replacing my sod with an artificial lawn because of drainage issues, water bills and also the upkeep involved with a real lawn.

During your cleaning times, removing all foreign objects, like tree leaves and twigs, from your artificial grass is crucial. Foreign objects, regardless of their size, can create a polluted infill and even harm your lawn’s fibers. Things to watch out for are gum, discarded athlete’s tape pieces, random paper, and other natural products from the environment.
After all foreign objects have been taken out, your next course of action is to adequately brush all your synthetic grass areas. Proper brushing will not only keep your synthetic grass looking lovely, it will also prevent the occurrence of leaning blades. No one wants these, and the best way to avoid the problematic leaning is to brush with a purpose. It’s not an especially hard thing to do, it just means brushing through your grass in alternating directions. The extra effort and thoughtfulness will really pay off because pile leaning prevents the lawn from giving its all. When turf blades lean, the turf surface loses the ability to provide an optimal environment for sports activities. So as you can surmise, it’s rather critical to defend against leaning. Also, keep in mind that sweeping and brushing are not exactly the same.
Another thing to watch out for during lawn upkeep sessions is the status of lawn segment seams. By inspecting these regularly you’ll be sure to notice the first instance of a seam rip and repair it accordingly. Prevention and a quick respond to seam tears will ensure that a minor situation does not evolve into a major issue with your lawn.
If you happen to live a place with multiple seasons, and get to experience what a White Christmas is like, you certainly must have reason to count yourself among the lucky of the world. And if you own a synthetic turf lawn, you should know that the best way to deal with winter’s powder is to let it melt away on its own.

Leicester City new pitch with 10% artificial grass. Photo by Neil Plumb Photography (c) 2011.
Artificial grass will soon be making a sporting debut at Walkers Stadium, as Leicester City swaps its tired natural grass pitch for a 10 per cent artificial grass weaving.
Work began this week to bring artificial grass to Leicester City, with diggers removing the club’s natural pitch so it can be swiftly replaced with a new playing field which will be strengthened by synthetic grass fibres.
The pitch refurbishment project will see natural grass cultivated within an artificial grass weave, over a nine week period.
The move will see The Foxes become proud owners of a pitch that’s fit for purpose and can rival the artificial pitches used by Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Leicester City fans also hope a newly refurbished pitch will become a “platform for promotion” next year, as the club’s players may well perform even better after training and playing on an improved surface.
Artificial grass isn’t just great for those actually treading the pitch though. Football clubs and their brand partners rely on Evergreens for promotional football pitches and logo mats too.
Until golf courses get shorter or more affordable, golfers can enjoy getting into the swing of things will artificial grass putting lawns, golf tee mats and more
From the putting green to manicured club-house lawns, there’s long been a tradition of extending the green for keen golfers.
But now there’s news that new, amateur and casual golfers are less keen to spend time on the green than their seasoned counterparts and would prefer to play on a reduced course of just 12 holes.
According to Golf Online, Ken Hambleton said that new golfers may be put off by the idea of spending four or five hours on the course – especially before they’ve perfected their swing.
“Every sport can be played in two, maybe three hours, except a round of golf,” Hambleton said. “Cutting the round to 12 holes would make it more palatable for golfers who don’t want to make it a day-long process.”
Hambleton also said that reducing golf to 12 holes could make the game more accessible to new players who can’t afford to play a full course.
And Hambleton’s not alone – as Jack Nicklaus has agreed, saying more professional golfers are leaving the game as they struggle to work family and professional commitments around long games.
Until golf courses become a little shorter or golf becomes more affordable, new golfers can practice their putting, potting and swings using handy artificial grass golfing products such as artificial putting greens and golf tee mats that are ideal for recreating a course at home.
FIRST DIVISION STVV IN BELGIAN FOOTBALL PLAYS ON DOMO ARTIFICIAL GRASS IN THEIR HOME STADIUM
Posted by Mofazri at 10:54 AMYou are here : Home » FIRST DIVISION STVV IN BELGIAN FOOTBALL PLAYS ON DOMO ARTIFICIAL GRASS IN THEIR HOME STADIUM Friday, 29 July, 2011 Artificial grass, Artificial grass for soccer, Artificial sports grass
First-division STVV is coming up with a first in Belgian football: the club has installed an artificial grass pitch in its main stadium. The pitch is now ready for competition with FIFA 2 STAR certification. So, as from today STVV will be playing their home matches on Domo VarioSlide S PRO artificial grass.
“Laying an artificial grass surface offers numerous advantages. First of all a FIFA 2STAR approved artificial grass surface has the same technical playing properties as an ideal natural grass pitch”, says STVV chairman Benoit Morenne. “You can also play the whole year through on an artificial grass surface. Football days can be organised on artificial grass, with in the afternoons women or young people playing and the first-division team in the evening. That isn’t possible on a natural grass pitch: it would just be played to ruin. Finally, an artificial grass pitch can be played on in all weather conditions. There are no water logging problems with artificial grass. The water is drained away perfectly so the pitch can always be played on.”
A FIFA 2STAR pitch must meet the strict technical standards imposed by FIFA. The test values are set based on values measured on an ideal natural grass pitch. The new STVV artificial grass surface is tested by the European Research Centre for Artificial Turf (ERCAT).
The Domo VarioSlide S PRO artificial pitch is a natural-looking grass mat for which the new Heliflex technology is used. After years of research, Domo Sports Grass has succeeded in applying a controllable spiral form to the monofilament yarns of the grass mat. This gives the pitch excellent resilience. In the erect state the spiral yarns are nicely at rest. As soon as lateral or downward pressure is exerted, the yarn is subjected to tension and wants to spring back upright as soon as possible. Thanks to the Heliflex technology, a sports pitch is achieved on which the grass yarns are always perfectly erect. This means that the ball always rolls or lies on the tips of the artificial grass blades, so the most important playing properties in football, the roll of the ball and getting one’s foot under the ball, are guaranteed. The players have the feeling they are playing on ideal natural grass more than ever.
