Football Season in Full Swing
Since I had my artificial lawn put in, I am enjoying more football than ever (College and NFL). Who would have thought that fake grass would be the game changer?! I am spending a tenth of the time with the upkeep of my yard as I used to before I made the switch to artificial grass turf. I just use my leaf blower occasionally to clear off leaves. With synthetic lawns, grass stains and mud ruining the kids clothes are a thing of the past. Best of all, the kids and our dog love to play on the grass too! Thanks ATS.

The unpredictable weather may produce some rather unfortunate results…
Real grass will worsen in condition, after being battered by wind, rain and fast-dropping temperatures.

Mowing conditions will get worse, causing gardens to look overgrown and untidy

Rather than allowing your garden to turn into a jungle this autumn, keep it pristine by installing a super synthetic lawn which requires minimum maintenance and will reward you with a healthy green glow right.

Labels: ARTIFICIAL, famous, GRASS
In the Southwest, constant drought and even expected low periods of rainfall have made artificial turf exceptionally fashionable. Everyone wants a uniformly green lawn to go sit in and read on while comfortably reclining on a lawn chair on weekends. Certain individuals, also, dearly esteem their fake grass lawns because they provide the perfect setting to hold their fabulous garden parties over. However, all of these wonderful activities are often hampered by uncooperative weather and sustained dire climactic events.
Fake grass provides its owners with a clear way out of these limiting factors. If the bad weather of the last six weeks has really messed up your natural grass, there’s no way you can host your backyard party until the atmosphere has improved enough to give your grass a chance at recuperation. Recuperation takes weeks! By having artificial grass installed in your home, you’ll be able to host your backyard celebration the moment the weather gives its first respite.
But that is not the only reason to have synthetic turf installed in your home. Synthetic turf is also genuinely attractive. It will stay green through every season of the year and it will not demand that you fertilize it or even trim it. Areas with severe water restrictions are currently seeing a rise in the demand for artificial turf. Still, many people use synthetic turf for reasons that have more to do with functionality than with the need to keep a beautiful green lawn in the front or back of their homes. For some purposes, like for creating pet training areas, natural grass does not beat the advantages of fake turf.
Fake turf provides the surface that will sustain the heaviest use and keep its good face on throughout the wear. For the most part, simple washing down and brushing up suffice to keep a synthetic turf area looking groomed and well-kept.

Adding artificial grass bowls banks and ditches can improve tired bowling greens
The BBC has traced Britain’s love affair with exciting bowls games and relaxing bowling greens just in time for the beginning of the outdoor season. The series is sure to entice players to their local green, complete with artificial bowls banks and ditches.
And while indoor and outdoor bowls are hugely popular – with 400,000 bowlers in England and 90,000 in Scotland, the BBC has reported that cost-cutting councils and property developers could be threatening the availability of the game.
According to the BBC, John Woodcock, the MP for Barrow and Furness, has proposed a parliamentary bill that would protect bowling greens from being redeveloped or sold-off by local councils looking to raise funds.
Mr. Woodcock told the BBC that natural and artificial bowling greens are quintessentially British, and should be preserved for future generations.
The game, Mr. Woodcock said, should not only be associated with crisp linens, manicured lawns and good sportsmanship, but should also be considered as of historic value. The sport, once officially endorsed by British royalty, has survived for centuries and its roots are long and well established.
Mr. Woodcock also told the BBC that bowls was one of the very few sports which old and young people could play together.
The bowls fan also added that refurbishing neglected bowling greens and safeguarding popular bowling greens could help to build and foster community spirit.
Many bowling lawns could be revitalized and made good for gaming with a little care and the addition of artificial bowls banks and ditches.
Synthetic lawns are made of futuristic materials that deliver the best present-day value; that’s really only to be expected. However, even these other-worldly and incredibly reliable materials need care too. Everyday hazards can be avoided quite simply by following commonsense and minding where you place things. For instance, you don’t want to drive up your family cars onto the pristine lawn. It’s not good for natural grass and it’s not good for the even stronger synthetic kind either.
Parking cars on the synthetic turf grass you selected and bought with so much consideration and effort will give rise to messy situations. Maybe you don’t especially mind oil stains on your pebbly driveway, but if those same stains appear on the surface of your lawn they will do you no favors. The stains are a result of leaking transmission fluids, grease, oil, and even acid from the car’s battery. These are gruesome substances once they leave their designated spaces inside your car’s engine. Even engine exhaust can be harmful to your nicely groomed lawn.
More simply put, synthetic lawns have many uses, but being the surface on which to conduct car repairs does not happen to be one of them. Even if you could afford it, there’s no point in buying more artificial lawns if they will be used for an inapplicable purpose. Parking or repairing cars on artificial turf is not a good idea because there’s no way to avoid staining and discoloration on account of the leaking car fluids. It’s an easy hazard to avoid and doing so will save you tons of grief. If your lawn does experience some staining, there’s not better advice to give than to go ahead and clean it up with soap and water as soon as possible. Treating the stain quickly will not allow it harden and become an even bigger headache.

England Rugby Artificial Grass Logo Mat
The England Rugby team ran out on a new black Artificial Grass Logo Mat last weekend as they entered the Twickenham pitch with their encounter with Wales. The durable logo mat was produced in our UK factory using different shades of red and green for the rose detail. It was also edged with anti-trip edging so the mat could be laid over the existing logo space.
England were performing in their new black away kit, hence they decided to exchange their regular white artificial grass logo mat with a new black background area.
See the mat being produced on Evergreens UK You Tube channel.
The new kit has been subject to some controversy as it is the same colour as the New Zealand All Blacks kit – New Zealand are hosting the Rugby World Cup where England plan to wear this kit for some of the games, but England did confirm with the NZ rugby authorities that they were happy for them to have a black change strip.
The black kit did not disappoint (especially female fans admiring its tight fit on Moody and co.) and England ran out 23-19 winners with the ever dependable Jonny Wilkinson kicking 2 drop goals, 2 conversions, 1 penalty and setting up Leicester Tigers young star (and England Debutant) Manu Tuilagi for the try of the game with a sweet inside pass.
England meet Wales again this weekend before their final warm up match against Ireland, before they head of to the World Cup, which is certain to be a quite amazing tournament with Australia, England, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and France amoungst the hot faves to lift the trophy.

Synthetic grass has never looked so much like natural grass. The sand and rubber infill that’s used today sets up the blades to look like the natural arrangement of living grass. Currently, the batches of synthetic grass that are coming out are being called “third generation.” These are the surfaces that are regarded as being unequalled in terms of safety, reliability, and endurance. It only looks like natural grass, because it’s actually better.
Yet, it wasn’t until 2005 that FIFA gave its final seal of approval for the use of the surface for its matches throughout the world. Moreover, FIFA went so far as to develop an original star-rating system for artificial turf fields. Of course, FIFA is not the only governing body of international sports to use synthetic turf. During the European Championships of 2008, artificial grass surfaces were used because unfavorable weather conditions would have made it impossible to hold the games on natural grass. Those games were held in Russia. Despite the unfriendly weather, the players and fans carried on with the matches thanks to the technological advancements of synthetic grass.
Another great benefit that artificial turf offers is the wonderful play surface it provides for matches and other sports activities that must be held indoors. Much research and development is still underway to continue to improve synthetic turf for its wide variety of uses. You can take full advantage of all the available technology by ordering wholesale artificial turf for your home. You’ll improve the looks and functionality of all our outdoor space at home.
When you’re ready, make your way through our site to find all the information you need on the cost and benefits of installing a synthetic grass lawn. Our website was developed with you in mind. Here, you’ll find information on all the lawn systems we offer and also be able to view images of our lawns.

Bring the British Open to your backyard with artificial grass golf products
The British Open has swung into action (10 – 17 July 2011), bringing the golfing greats to Blighty’s shores once more.
But while the world’s best golfers take to the green in a bid to win this year’s championship, new golfers and spectators can get into the swing of things by perfecting their own game at home using artificial grass golf products.
Ken Hambleton recently said that new, amateur and causal golfers can struggle to perfect their game on the traditional course, and could benefit from playing shorter courses that are just 12 holes long.
According to Golf Online, Hambleton even said that new golfers could be put off by the idea of spending four or five hours on the course – especially before they’ve perfected their game.
New golfers can easily tee-off and putt- away by bringing the open to their backyard with the help of artificial putting greens and golf tee mats, the perfect way to make sure they are up to par in private.
And as drought weather could see club lawns dry up, new golfers could get even more from their artificial grass during Open season.

The Difference a Strong Scrubbing Broom and a Little Bit of Extra Infill Make
Posted by Mofazri at 10:30 AM
Once you have it at home, committing to giving adequate cleaning and maintenance to your artificial turf is worth every bit of effort. Regular upkeep of synthetic grass is minimal when compared with that required by natural grass, but that doesn’t mean it’s trivial. To sustain your new lawn’s good appearance, and to keep it usable for many years to come, clean it about once a month. When the time for brightening and sprucing up arrives, take the opportunity to remove all rubbish and any accumulations of loose materials from the lawn. Some debris usually accumulates as a result of natural vegetable and animal matter that’s present in the environment.
Another thing to do is to brush the synthetic turf fibers with a good rake. Passing a rake through the grass will restore its vitality and keep it looking impeccably manicured. Every now and then it’s also good to wash the entire lawn surface down. When you’re out doing the necessary upkeep, it’s essential to select your cleaning and grooming tools carefully. For example, harsh solvents should be avoided — this means alcohol- and acetone-containing cleaners are out as they can harm your beautiful fake lawn grass.
A good rule of thumb when cleaning is to carefully go over the areas of the lawn that endure the heaviest foot traffic or, more generally, just see the most activity. It also helps to retain a good bit of extra infill around; after the lawn goes through its settling period, it’s very common to find small areas with depleted infill. This is perfectly normal. To replenish the area’s infill, simply add the extra rubber/sand in thin layers and brush over it with a scrubbing broom. As you go over it, run the broom in multiple directions. Keeping these simple things in mind will keep your lawn going wonderfully strong.

Artificial Grass installed at Silverstone for the F1 British Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton (GBR) McLaren Mercedes races by. Picture courtesy of Silverstone.
Your eyes may be firmly fixed on the tarmac during the MotoGP AirAsia British Grand Prix and forthcoming Formula 1 fixtures, but you’re sure to catch glimpses of artificial grass during the high-octane racing action as Evergreens‘s artificial play-grass has been used throughout Silverstone’s new Pit and Paddock complex – just in time for the circuit’s biggest fixtures.
The MotoGP showcases some of the world’s best two-wheeled motorsports, and organisers have made sure that Silverstone’s circuit looks just as good as the event it hosts by re-surfacing the ground’s concourse, circuit-side and break-out areas using 450 square metres of synthetic turf.
Artificial grass has been similarly used to spruce up formula one racing grounds in Bahrain and Hockenheim.
Even though petrol heads are more likely to keep their eyes on the racing action instead of Silverstone’s newly laid lawn, the new course is sure to make a great backdrop for future races – especially as former World Superbike rider Cal Crutchlow, the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team and Lewis Hamilton are regulars to Silverstone and are frequently photographed by the circuit-side.

One green fingered blogger has said artificial lawns are set to replace the drudgery of up-keeping withered natural lawns
Britain’s lush green lawns are said to be under threat this summer, as increasing temperatures mean the twin prospects of lawn-withering droughts and hosepipe bans are becoming more and more of a reality.
And, according to one green fingered blogger, there’s never been a better time to switch to artificial grass lawns and roof gardens to ensure your garden stays green regardless of the weather.
Guardian journalist, Joe Moran, agrees that natural lawns are losing out to artificial grass for a number of reasons, not least of all the hassle maintaining a natural lawn causes
“Like a lot of things in life in which we invest our physical and emotional labour, keeping a lawn tidy is ultimately pointless…the grass carries on growing, and the lawnmower eventually packs up,” he said.
Moran also blogged that the environmental reasons for keeping real grass alive are very much null and void, as water-saving artificial grass can be eco-friendly too.
In fact, he said the environmental case for keeping natural lawns instead of artificial lawns is ultimately worthless, since maintaining real grass involves “using up copious amounts of water and chemicals for the benefit of a few species of grass”.
Whereas artificial grass is water-saving and is manufactured from recycled plastic waste products, meaning it’s an eco-friendly choice for green-minded gardeners.
What’s more, artificial grass will look green all year round, meaning summer gardeners don’t need to worry about rising mercury and drought planting, just when to hold their next barbeque.

Artificial grass looks all the greener as gardeners face withered natual lawns as rainfall drops to a record low
The BBC has reported that British gardeners are facing a difficult patch if they are trying to keep their lawns looking lush. The driest spring in over 100 years has left many gardens looking withered ahead of a dry summer, making artificial grass look all the greener in comparison.
According to Peter Gibbs of BBC Radio Four’s Gardeners’ Question Time, record-low rainfall levels have “knocked gardeners off balance”, as many green fingered enthusiasts are unsure of what to plant and when to plant it during current and impending drought conditions.
The BBC has also reported that many gardeners have already had to resort to water saving measures, especially as hosepipe bans are likely to be brought into force over the coming months.
Water saving measures currently being adopted by some drought-stricken gardeners include using hanging baskets with reservoirs which stop water seeping through and buying expensive water retention tablets.
Gardeners are also having to take care to plant flowers, shrubs and herbs which absorb little water.
Popular dry weather plants include lavender, rosemary, geraniums, lilacs, ornamental alliums, pelargoniums and petunias.
Gardeners looking for lush lawns, no matter the weather, can opt for artificial grass instead, which unlike natural grass and most plants, won’t wither in drought weather.
One of the main reasons for synthetic grass having an unchallenged popularity in sports is its capacity to withstand constant, heavy use. No matter the weather conditions, immediate or sustained, synthetic grass remains constant in its state of availability for play. Synthetic grass is so reliable because it does not need to periodically remain in disuse for the purpose of recovery. When natural grass suffers heavy damage as a result of heavy use or severe weather, it must be given a time-out so that it can heal and regenerate. Grass growth takes time and during that waiting period, playing cannot occur.
None of this happens when the playing takes place over the products offered by artificial grass suppliers — like yours truly — because artificial turf is not made of delicate, living grass blades. The material that makes up synthetic grass is sturdy and reliable. With minimum maintenance, it will endure and provide the same quality surface time after time. Time-outs for re-growth are completely irrelevant to artificial grass.
Over natural grass, it’s also impossible to play after there’s been a bout of heavy rainfall or during its daily watering sessions. The only time artificial grass needs water is during its intermittent cleanings. It’s for its incredibly low maintenance requirements that artificial grass is the favored play surface of so many athletes and coaches — the game can always go on.
Because owners of professional parks can get fantastic artificial grass wholesale deals, they don’t mind the upfront cost of a synthetic lawn’s purchase and installation. For folks with more modest budgets, the cost bears some consideration, but it’s not an ordinary person that needs to buy enough artificial grass to cover an entire football field. If your budget is smaller than that of a professional sports team’s owner, it’s very likely that the amount of grass you need to purchase will not be grand. Moreover, its easier upkeep has the potential to save you big bucks.

You have more options than you think when it comes to ordering a fake grass lawn. Synthetic lawns come in many varieties because there are so many applications for the durable and versatile surface. For example, there are lawn applications for which infill is not necessary, but many others for which it is. Evaluating the real use you’ll give to your lawn, if it’s something that you haven’t thought of yet, will be a great aid when it comes time to decide which type of synthetic lawn will actually work best for you.
Landscaping applications and athletic play applications are quite different. Some customers will give more than one use to their artificial lawn, but it’s important to remember your overriding necessities when making your decision. One of the things your most general application will determine is whether your lawn will need infill or not. The infill, which is made of rubber pieces or sand, makes an artificial lawn look and feel more like a natural one. The infill provides added structural support to the individual synthetic grass blades so that they can arrange themselves more like natural ones.
If the ground you cover with fake lawn grass will be the site of constant human or pet activities, then it’s recommended that you select a lawn with infill. If your site will receive heavy traffic, among your many options for lawn systems are our ProPLAY PLUS, PetPRO PLUS, and the LXR PRO series, all with infill. But the fact that a lawn will be used mainly as golf or soccer practice areas does not mean that they will not also be contributing to the beauty and charm of your landscaping. Beyond providing a safe space for athletes to run (skillfully) wild in, the green ground covering will accent your home, pool, and garden. Browse through our website to learn more about the different applications of artificial lawns.
